A video I shot for Kodaline has won Best Rock/Indie Video Budget at the UK Video Music Awards. Well done to director Stevie Russell and producer Michael Donnelly.

Win for 'Alia' in Kerry

Great to hear that a short film I shot with Claire Dix, 'Alia' picked up the award for Best Irish Narrative short at the Kerry Film Festival last week. Well done to Claire and producer Nodlag Houlihan. More info here.

Wrapped on 'Let Us Prey'

Yesterday we wrapped on 'Let Us Prey', a feature directed by Brian O'Malley and produced by Fantastic Films and Makar Productions. Shot on Epic with Lomo anamorphics and Zeiss standard speeds. Big thanks to all my crew!

Praise for 'Out of Here'

I feature I shot with Donal Foreman, 'Out of Here' went down really well at this years Galway Film Fleadh. It was a runner up for the best first film award, and critic Donald Clarke picked it as his favourite film of the festival. In his report on the festival he mentions the cinematography;

'The film is also rather beautiful. Piers McGrail’s camera locates huge fish just beneath the surface of Dublin Bay, makes something of two escalators powering in complementary competition, and helps compose a final shot that is brilliant in its uncomplicated invention.'
