Ridley Scott is to remake the incredible Red Riding trilogy, transporting it to the states, and turning it into a feature.
Not sure how this will turn out, but if nothing else it should secure more well deserved publicity for what I reckon is on of the best tv serials ever made. The good news is that the original producer, Andrew Eaton, is on board, so hopefully he'll bring some of the original's offbeat atmosphere along with him.
If you haven't seen it yet, it comes thoroughly recommended. And the good news is, it's only three, one-hour films. You don't have the daunting, time-sapping prospect of a whole season of episodes.
